This is what I would call a . . .

Uh, yeah.  We had chicken & jo-jo's for supper Friday night that Mom got from the Fred Meyer deli.  Bronwyn didn't like the breaded part of the fried chicken, so she peeled it off.  Then she didn't like the chicken either!!  I don't think she ate anything at all!

Yes, that is what I call a picky eater!

{And besides, it was DELICIOUS food!!}

Have a wonderful day!

What's Been Happening Around Here . . .

A girl ordered this bag a few days before the end of school so I had to hurry and make it before school was out.  I finished it the Monday before the last day of school and gave it to her Tuesday.

The last day of school for lunch I made and had cinnamon roll pancakes.  They were pretty good, especially with maple syrup poured over them, along with the icing!  Recipe here.

On the 23rd, Reid down through Clayton (7 of us kids) went to Philbrook Farms to pick strawberries.  They were delicious and sweet and it was a perfect day to be picking berries; no rain, not hot at all: just perfect:)  When we got home we went to one of my aunts birthday party thing.  Later when we got home, Mom, Rachel, & I got strawberries ready to freeze and also Mom made freezer jam.  The next day, with some more strawberries, I made strawberry milkshakes.

Yes, more about that in a different post . . . and when I'm done . . .

. . . and today I learned about this foot that goes with my Mom's old sewing machine (the one I use) that's pretty awesome.  It pretty much takes the fabric and folds it over and makes a nice & neat hem . . . awesome & easy & way less time consuming . . . Yay!!!

So that's some of what I've been doing lately:)

What have you been up to?

Have an awesome weekend!

Cinnamon & Sugar Doughnut Muffins

These are just some delicious muffins I made a few days back.  I thought I'd share.

(These were supposed to be for Baker's Review Wednesday, but yesterday was quite busy, and I totally forgot until late at night, and I was getting strawberries ready to freeze, so it never happened.)

I'd say they are best the first day; but they do taste fine the second day.

Find the recipe here.

Note: I ommited the nutmeg and used more cinnamon in its place.

Thanks & have a great day!

Scrapbook Pages

For school, I had to make scrapbook pages for an english project (2 paragraphs on each page).  A couple of these I didn't like all too much, but I liked most of them:)  This first one and the one below this I got ideas from some sketches.

How do you like my little tree I made ~ I like it!!

This page I also got the idea from a sketch.  All I added was flowers besides the paragraphs & pictures, since the page was so decorative already!

This page is going to be for a recipe binder I'm going to make of my favorite recipes for someday when I move away from home:)

Have a wonderful-wonderful day!

p.s. 3 more days till school ends!!

Skirt to Shirt Redo

So I had this skirt sitting in a stack of stuff to get rid of & I thought of trying to make it into a shirt.  All I did was cut off the bottom to make it straight (it was kind of odd how it was) and serged it.  With the scraps from straightening the bottom, I cut out two rectangles to make into straps.  I also serged the edges of those and just sewed them onto the top of the skirt.  (By the way, the skirt was something (cannot think of the word right now - like stretchy at the top - you know:)

{Photos of me are taken by my sister, Tara Kulla.}
{The pics at the bottom of just the skirt are my attempts at taking pictures of the shirt - the lighting was really bad then - like dark looking - so I edited them so you could *sort of* see what it looked like.}

Yes, mostly a picture post, but hey ~ a picture is worth a thousand words:)  !!

Have a wonderful day!

I have four more half days of school left!  I'm off to working on my history paper that's due tomorrow now:(

Baker's Review Wednesday 9: Magic Cookie Bars

Sorry I'm LATE guy!  I have not posted all week; I've been busy doing a couple different projects for English & Science that are due today.  If I don't post very much until school is done (June 21st), it's probably because I'm busy with school work.  Next week I also have a paper in history due, and who knows what else; and studying for finals, so . . . .

On the Baker's Review Wednesday on Friday:)  I really did make these on time; I made them Tuesday; I just haven't gotten it posted:(

These bars are ooey-gooey and delicious!!!!!  They are made from all kinds of delicious things & I LOVE them!!  They're totally addicting; it'd be better if they were nasty!

{Picture tutorial on making Magic Cookie Bars}

Magic Cookie Bars

1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
2 1/2 cups toppings, such as: baking chips, M & M's, or anything else
1 cup mini marshmallows
coconut, optional

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  In 9x13 pan, melt butter in oven.  Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs over butter.  Pour sweetened condensed milk over crumbs.  Top with remaining ingredients  Press down fimly with fork.  Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly browned.  Cool.

Notes:
The original recipe calls for 1 1/2 cup coconut; I just use a little bit.
I used M & M's, chocolate chips, & a bit of white chocolate chips for toppings; I just use what we have on hand.

Have a wonderful weekend; hopefully I'll actually get some crafting done or something and post on here!

Baker's Review Wednesday 8: Frosty Floats & Trifles

Okay people . . . these are make as you go recipes, not really any specific amounts or anything; I will just generally tell you the steps to make them!

I think everyone pretty much liked both of these items . . . I know I did!

Strawberry & Blueberry Trifles

Yellow Cake (made this from a box mix), cubed (about 1 in.)
Vanilla Pudding
Strawberries, sliced
Blueberries
Whipped Cream

These are really easy to make.  Simply, in either indivdual serving sizes (like jars), or a larger clear glass bowl, layer the ingredients in order given in desired amounts.  Do this a few times and you've got yourself a delicious dessert.  Refrigrate until you are serving it.

Note: These are best fresher, the day you make them.  I made them in the jars for dessert at the party, but there was leftover ingredients so I made a large bowl of it . . . it tasted fine, but it was better fresh:)

Frosty Floats

Vanilla Icecream
Vanilla
Milk
Sugar
Root Beer (or I suppose Orange pop)

Blend together all ingredients except root beer until desired thickness and taste (like you're making a vanilla milkshake).  Pour into cup.  Pour over with pop (as if you'r making a root beer float).  Enjoy immediately!!

So there's a couple {simple} recipes for you to go try out . . . you won't be dissapointed!!

Have a wonderful, relaxing evening!!

p.s. I am literally gushing with excitement right now . . . I just checked the weather forecast, and it shows that it's supposed to be 77 degrees on Saturday and 81 degrees on Sunday!!!  Yaayyyyy!!!!!  We might finally have at least a couple days of nice sunny, summery weather!  And beginning of next week it's supposed to be in the upper 60's!  Fun, fun, fun!
