Cinnamon Chip Scones

The first time I ever had Cinnamon Chip Scones was at a quilt retreat a couple years ago (I was with to take care of the baby).  They were so delicious so we got the recipe.  They are delicious to eat with any sort of egg bake or scrambled eggs - whatever you wish:)  I really think you all should make some - I know you'd love them!

Imagine a sweet cinnamon taste, the cinnamon chips melting in your mouth . . . Just Imagine something that might be to difficult to imagine. . . sugar tempting your taste buds . . . the savoring of a thing that's to delicious . . .

Yes, that is why you need to taste them . . . your mouth is already watering . . .

You had better run to the store and buy the ingredients . . .

Cinnamon Chip Scones

3 cups flour
1/3 cup sugar
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup cold butter
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 pkg. cinnamon chips
2 tbsp. melted butter
2 tbsp. sugar

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.  Cut in cold butter.  Stir in buttermilk and cinnamon chips with fork.

Gather dough; knead 12 times on lightly floured counter.  Divide dough in half.  Shape each into a 7 inch circle.  Cut into wedges, but do not seperate.  Place on pan.  Brush with melted butter.  Spread over circles.  Sprinkle with sugar.  Bake at 425 for 10-12 minutes.

Note: When sprinkling sugar on top, I don't measure it.  I just sprinkle on however much I think looks good.  Also, the melted butter and sugar at the bottom of the list are 1 tbsp. per circle.

Love, Aimee
