Lately . . . What's Been Happening Around Here

A post with a conglomeration of things I've been doing lately - some crafts, some organizing, etc.

I've did a bit of scrapbooking lately.  

One day I just kind of felt like doing it so I took out my supplies and made a few cards.

I also made a scrapbook page of Hunter using a picture I took at school in my black & white film photography class.

We noticed our closet shelf was sitting empty and that it would work perfectly to stick all our boots up there . . . especially since we're not going to be wearing them in the summer anyways!

I got a desk as an early birthday present, and I'm enjoying having it:)  You can read a story about the desk here.  There's also another project I want to do . . . remake a lampshade for my lamp:)  I really like the lamp post thing, but I don't like the lampshade, so I need to get that done sometime.

Speaking of pictures I took at school in my film photography class, I finally decided to hang some of them up so I could actually see them, rather than having them stuck away in a binder:)

And Tara (and Bronwyn & Morgan) FINALLY got a bed . . . it's probably a little more comfortable than sleeping on the floor:)  It does kind of need a new bed set for that size of bed though .. and a bed skirt:)

Morgan Elaine & a Cute Lil' Ruffle Dress

So now it's the beginning of a new school year . . . at the end of last school year, I made this dress.  It was sitting there for a long time waiting for the last ruffle to get on it.  I finally got that done in August some time I think, but then I never got pictures done so I could blog about it.  At the end of August, I wanted to take pictures of Morgan at the neighbors house because she has so many lovely spots for taking photo's and I ended up having her wear this dress . . . and I am in LOVE with these photo's - they're all so darling!

This dress was made with the same base as this dress I made for Bronwyn, but then I added all the ruffles.

A Morning Walk

 The other day Tara and I decided to go on a walk.  We had to watch the kids so we decided to bring Morgan with us in the stroller.  It was a beautiful morning and the temperature was wonderful for a walk!

Rhoades Family Camping

Last weekend we went to our Rhoades Family Camp Out!!  We had so much fun:)  Here's a few pictures I took.

On the way there - We go to my aunt and uncles who live in eastern Washington, about 2 1/2 hours away from home.  We left Friday morning and got there just before noon.

Once we got there, we unloaded a few things, then we ate lunch (sub sandwiches - yumm!!), and then we started setting up and finished unpacking.  No one else was there yet.

Then it was time to play and have some fun!!

They have a candy store and ice cream for sale, which is a big hit with everyone.  I really enjoyed the ice cream and was kind of a pig, but oh well:)

They have a pool, which makes there place an awesome place for camping!  A LOT of us spend a TON of time in the pool, especially for our family, because it's basically the only chance we get to go swimming.  We always enjoy the pool to it's fullest!

We came home Sunday afternoon after church.  We all had a wonderful weekend, I'm thinking:)

Summer Time Happenings

So hey everyone!  I'm still alive:)  I  know, I know, I haven't posted in FOREVER:)

Lately it's been quite busy.  Recently, I started cleaning at my grandma's house, and then the next week I also started cleaning at my neighbors.  Tara is doing that with me.  We do weekly cleaning, so I think we're going to try and do the cleaning on Thursday's and Friday's whenever we can. 

Around Memorial Day, I started exercising.  I've been running and also doing a walking DVD.  I kind of try to do one in the morning and the other in the evening, but sometimes I'll end up doing the DVD both times:)  Hey, it's still exercising, anyways:)  I really enjoy running at Moulton though, if I can get mom to bring us.  To run one way it's 2.5 miles.  For the first time ever, I ran 5 miles, a week or 2 ago.  By the end I was hardly moving, but I did run the whole way, even if I did go slow:)

Our flower bed is just full of pretty, blooming flowers!!  

 

And tomorrow morning we're leaving to go camping!!  So we've been getting ready for that.  This morning I made huckleberry sauce for huckleberry crepes for camping . . . can't  wait to have them because they're going to be soooo DELICIOUS!!

 

I actually have done some baking lately:)  Last week I made these cinnamon rolls.

And I actually did some sewing again!  I want to start up my Etsy shop again.  I just need to get  some pictures of some stuff and then start posting it.  This is the bag I just made . . .

Crafter's Weekly - week 7: Take a photo, edit it, and make something with it

Take a photography, edit it, and make something with it.  I'm a little last minute.  I did take the photograph and edit it last week, I just didn't make something with it until today.  But it worked because we had a craft day and we didn't have school:)  I made a little quote page thing with the photo.  I might frame it, but I'm not sure yet.
