Summer Time Happenings

So hey everyone!  I'm still alive:)  I  know, I know, I haven't posted in FOREVER:)

Lately it's been quite busy.  Recently, I started cleaning at my grandma's house, and then the next week I also started cleaning at my neighbors.  Tara is doing that with me.  We do weekly cleaning, so I think we're going to try and do the cleaning on Thursday's and Friday's whenever we can. 

Around Memorial Day, I started exercising.  I've been running and also doing a walking DVD.  I kind of try to do one in the morning and the other in the evening, but sometimes I'll end up doing the DVD both times:)  Hey, it's still exercising, anyways:)  I really enjoy running at Moulton though, if I can get mom to bring us.  To run one way it's 2.5 miles.  For the first time ever, I ran 5 miles, a week or 2 ago.  By the end I was hardly moving, but I did run the whole way, even if I did go slow:)

Our flower bed is just full of pretty, blooming flowers!!  

 

And tomorrow morning we're leaving to go camping!!  So we've been getting ready for that.  This morning I made huckleberry sauce for huckleberry crepes for camping . . . can't  wait to have them because they're going to be soooo DELICIOUS!!

 

I actually have done some baking lately:)  Last week I made these cinnamon rolls.

And I actually did some sewing again!  I want to start up my Etsy shop again.  I just need to get  some pictures of some stuff and then start posting it.  This is the bag I just made . . .

Cream & White Ruffled Table Runner - $26.50

This table runner is made of many layers of cotton cream & white ruffles.  It has different widths of ruffles.  The table runner has batting in the middle and a cream cotton back.

5" x 7" Burlap Rolled-Flower Frame - $8.75

These burlap rolled-flowers are glued onto a wooden frame . . . so cute!!  Put a picture or bible verse or saying in it!  (Only thing about this is that the clips that hold the back in, 2 are broken off, so you would just have to tape those areas together to make sure the back stays in:(  It still works great, though; it was just not a brand new frame I used - a thrifted one!)

the Morgan Ruffle Skirt - size 0-3 months - $13.75

This skirt is so darling!  I made one of these for my baby sister when she was born and we just LOVED it!  4 layers of cotton ruffles on a skirt base w/ elastic waistband.

Measures about 12" wide by 6 1/4" tall.  Waist measures 6 1/4" not stretched, will stretch to 10 1/2".

Jean Ruffle Skirt - size 0-3 months - $7.50

This is a darling skirt made of jean with a ruffle at the bottom and an elastic waist.

Measures about 10 1/2" wide by 6 1/4" tall.  Waist measures 7 inches not stretches; will stretch to 9 1/2 inches. (the picture is a little blurry . . . sorry!)

Photo Tile - $4.50

This is a photo with a saying on it mod podged onto a black tile that measures 4 1/4 inches square.  The tile reads:

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.

It's about learning to dance in the rain.

"Vintage" Sayings Frame - $15

This is a wooden frame that is painted and embellished.  Some things are put on and/or covered in mod podge.  The frame has a "title" of "What a Friend" and then continues on in the middle:

". . . we have in Jesus, all our sins and greif's to bear!  What a privilege to carry, everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit! O what needless pain we bear!  All because we do not carry, Everything to God in prayer."

Measures 10 inches square.

 Copy-Cat Bag II - $16.25

This is made of a gray-ish color heavy fabric, for both the main exterior and lining.  In the inside, there's a pocket the width of the bag, sewn down the middle, so it's like two pockets.  The ruffle and flower edges are zig-zagged so they will not fray.  There are 2 flowers on this bag: one the same fabric as the ruffle, the other a contrasting blue color that is in the ruffle fabric.  There is one long handle so it could be a cross-body bag if you want.

Copy-Cat Bag $15.00

This bag is made of a purple cotton paisley printed fabric and a white cotton lining.  In the inside, there's a pocket the width of the bag, sewn down the middle, so it's like two pockets.  The ruffle and flower edges are both zig-zagged to prevent fraying.  The handle, lining, ruffle, and flower are all the same white fabric.  There is one long handle so it could be a cross-body bag if you want.

This bag is made of a bright pink fabric for the exterior and the handle.  There are 3 pleated rows of pink, embellished with 3 rolled flowers.  The lining fabric is a cream with black chicken-wire look, same as the rolled flowers.  In the inside, there's a pocket the width of the bag, sewn down the middle, so it's like two pockets.  There are two shorter handles on this bag.

Ruffle Skirt for Morgan

I made this cute little ruffle skirt for Morgan a bit after Morgan was born . . . love all the ruffles . . . because I tend to like ruffles!!!

I think this was the picture mom ended up using on Morgan's announcement.  I think it turned out really cute . . . vintage suitcase, ruffley skirt, CUTE BABY, etc.

Bright Pink & Dark Sparkly Gray Copy-Cat Bag + Some Extras

This last Wednesday, we went to my Aunt Marti's to craft.  My Aunt Karen was there, too.  We crafted a lot all day, and Karen was making a bag quite like the one I'm showing you, but a total different color scheme than mine!  Her's were so adorable, I decided I wanted to make one, too:)  So I got the measurements from her and she told me how to make it.  That is how this became "The Copy-Cat Bag". 

WARNING:  If you're scared of LOTS of pictures, don't read look on!  :)

Oh, I forgot to mention, in the insides of the bag, which is made of the sparkly gray fabric, I put the a pocket on each side of the bag made of the pink fabric.

Tonight, I made a headband for my sister to give as a gift to someone.  It's a Round-About Headband in shades of brown and cream.  (I had to use a headband backwards just . . . that's why you see pink stars!)

And I have a sneaky peak for you of something I'm working on to put in the AJcrazies Blog Sale shop!  Can you guess?!?
