Baker's Review Wednesday 13: No-Bake Cereal Bars

Today I made No-Bake Cereal Bars from a taste of home cook book.  I tweaked the recipe just a bit (by microwaving the sugar and corn syrup rather than cooking it on the stove).  They're delicous, nummy, and easy to make!!  If you really, really don't want nuts, obviously you could just use regular peanut butter, rather than the chunky:)

{to print recipe, simply save picture to computer and print or right click and print picture}

Hope you will make these and enjoy them, because I sure did!

3-Rolled Flower Headband in Yellow-Green *For Sale*

I made this headband in that yellow-greeny color I love.  But it ended up being too tight for me and gave me a headache ... will have to do something else with it:)

Tell you what . . . it's been worn only once; if you're not scared of me, you can buy it for $1.75.  Email me here if you're interested.  I think it might fit good for a younger girl, but I don't know for positive.  If you're someone I see quite a bit, you could try it on if you wanted:)

Have a wonderful day!!

Confirmation Classes: August 2

The second day of Confirmation was another beautiful day!!  I took the pictures after we were home for the day.  The classes were supposed to be from 9-3, but I think every day we got out early:)

These are some beautiful flowers at grandpa and grandma's.

It was so amazing how it was like all one flower bush, but the colors changed in different shades of pink and red.  They are so, so pretty!!

And a beautiful sunset:)

Wedding Gift

On July 16, 2011, my cousin Julia got married.  I made her and here husband a couple personalized hot pads for a wedding gift.

\

The hearts hot pad is made of jean fabric on the front and the leafy fabric on the back that is the same as one of the hearts.

The monogrammed hot pad is made of recycled jean pants.  For the K (initial of their last name), I printed off the K off the computer and then traced it on the fabric and cut it out - not too fun with all those curves:)  But I do like how it turned out, even if it was a bit more work!!

For both the hearts and K, I put interfacing on the back to make them a little less flimsy, then I used glue stick to put them on to the jean and sewed around the edges to keep them on.  Once they're washed, they'll probably both fray on the edges, but hopefully it'll look cute like that:)

I hope they enjoy them and have a wonderful, blessed marriage!!

Confirmation Classes: August 1

This was the first day of Confirmation Classes.  Mom brought me up to Centerville and she stayed until Tuesday afternoon.  I stayed at my Grandpa's house there.  These were a couple pictures I took that day.

Some of the beautiful flower's that I find at Grandpa & Grandma's.

Morgan & me.  I took this picture by using the tripod as a handle (it's like a 4-in. tripod) and using the self timer.  It worked pretty good.
I liked to go out on this swing and study, since I was by myself and outside.  Did I mention it was gorgeous and hot outside every single day I was up there!?!  It was wonderful!!

Can you tell I LOVE the self-timer and tripod??  They're totally amazing:)

Hope you have a wonderful day!!
