No School!!!

Since we had no school today, I decided I really should clean/organize my stuff in our girls' bedroom.  I got it mostly done, but not exactly to my liking.  I need to get some more shelves and baskets/containers to get everything all organized wonderful:)

Today, as I was cleaning, I found some flower things that I had made for something a while back, but didn't end up using.  I'm not even sure what I made them for, but I decided to make a headband out of them that I think turned out really cute . . . and now Bronwyn wants it . . . The question is though, if I gave it to her, would she even wear it?  Because other headbands I have made for her she has either lost or she rarely, if ever wears them:(  So I'm not sure if I'm keeping it or not, but I really do like it . . . no pics tonight though, because I don't feel like loading pictures onto the computer.

So I probably really should be getting ready to go to bed now, since I have school tomorrow, but I just don't feel like it, so I'm here blogging:)

So I'll leave you now, with this:

You can buy some of these awesome baby toys to hang on your carseat, or whatever else you wish!  Buy one here, or any of several other awesome items.  These are from the EMKDesigns etsy shop - you definitely want to go check it out because she has tons of AWESOME items!

Hope you all had a wonderful day!

More Headbands & Ramblings

Lately, I've made a few headbands - like one every day!  I guess, though, that's okay, because I wear a headband like every day so it's okay to have a variety:)

In advance, sorry about the horrible pictures:(

Another Simple Lace Headband ~ this time I only put elastic in the back.  (yes, this pic is blurry.)

Ribbon & Ruffle Headband (elastic in the back on this one, too)

Close up of the Ribbon & Ruffle Headband.

No name for this one . . . it's a made of a silky fabric and it's kind of hard to work with (I'm making a skirt out of this fabric - this was some of the scraps from the fabric) . . . elastic in the back of this one, too:)

Yesterday, I put a pocket in a couple skirts (have to have pockets for my insilin pump (I have diabetes).
I experimented putting pockets on the front this time, rather than in the side seam . . . I like the better on the front, and they're WAY easier to put on!  Most skirts though, unless you make them, you have to put the pocket in the inside:(

I started this Mile-a-Minute Frog Quilt a LONG time ago when I got these embroidered frog squares from my grandma (who got them from a garage sale, I think) and I finally started working on it again.  All the blocks are sewn together, now I just need to add the border to it to finish the front.  Then I need to do the back, quilting, and binding.

Yesterday was Gender Defender day at school.  The girls wore pink and the boys blue (well, they were supposed to, anyways!).  So really, the thing is, I don't have all that much pink clothes, even though it is my favorite color.  So I had this pink long sleeve shirt, so I layered a gray sweater over it, and a limey green scarf.  I also pinned a flower I made Thursday night onto the scarf to add a little bit more pink to my outfit.  Oh, I guess I had a pink headband, too.

We had an assembly in the afternoon to see who won the gender defender contest . . . Yes, of course, the girls won!  Because we're cool like that:)

The other day, the moon was really pretty - not sure if it was a full moon, but it looked pretty much like it anyways - it was so bright and beautiful in the clear night sky, with only a few scatterings of clouds around.  The pictue didn't turn out very good, though, but I decided to put it on here anyways.

Hope you all have a WONDERFUL weekend!

Simple Lace Headband & Jean Ruffle Hotpad

Yesterday I made a couple things.  First, I made a Jean Ruffle Hotpad.  I think it turned out really cute!  I used recycled jeans and fabric scraps.

I LOVE RUFFLES!!!

I really like how the color combination on this turned out:)  I think the pictures are cool, too . . . the reflections (I had it on the table) and everything!

Second, I made a Simple Lace Headband.  And they really are simple to make!  It's just made a headband out of elastic, and then sewed lace over it, not quite all the way around, though, to leave a little "stretch" room.

(no, my ponytail wasn't too cute at the moment)

I had really fun making these and I think they both turned out great!
Enjoy:)

Valentine's Party

Yesterday, Tara (and I think Christopher & Clint, maybe), hosted a Valentine's party for our family.

We started out by decorating paper bags for valentines.

Then we made individual heart pizza for supper. Sorry . . . no pics:(  It was soooooo good, though!!!

Passing out Valentine's

All the bags . . . you can kind of see them:)

Then we opened the bags of Valentine's . . .

Hunter Johnny - LOVE his cute grin!

Bronwyn (w/ her messy hair) & Hunter

All my Valentines . . .

Then we played a sort of bingo game.  We had a 3x3 paper card that we filled with candy hearts.  Then as Tara read off the messages from a bowl of hearts, we took that heart off the board and ate it if we had it.  First we played bingo (3 in a row) and then we played blackout.

Most of us getting ready to play the game.

My card with all my hearts . . . I Heart You; My Boy; Hello; Mad 4 U; Too Hot; No Way; First Kiss; My Hero; XOXO

Tara, our hostess.

While we were playing, I saw this little dude sitting and grinning in a little wagon . . . I happen to think my little brothers are the cutest little boys ever!!!

Walker Ray . . . Love his wide eyes:)

Prizes!!!

Someone left their Fun Dip on the table or bench or something . . . not good!  Walker got it and made a MESS!

Walker

We played another game . . . take a cup of candy hearts; get in groups of 3-? eople; make sure everyone has a spoon and using your spoon, take as many hearts as you want and pass them from person to person by spoon and dump them in the cup . . . if it falls, you have to leave it there.  Object of the game: see who can get all the hearts to the other cup first.

Clayton & Tara

Then we had a few sweets . . . but too much, seeing as we had already ate a bunch of candy!

Cookies w/ frosting & sprinkles on top.

Heart-shaped Brownies w/ frosting & sprinkles.

Marshmallows w/ frosting & sprinkles.

I love all my blog readers . . . and my family . . .  and my friends!!!
